Patrimonio Guitar Nights 2026: 35th Edition of the Mythical Cap Corse Festival (July 20-27)
Every summer since 1988, a small wine-growing village in Cap Corse becomes the island's musical hub and one of the most anticipated music scenes in the Mediterranean. Patrimonio and its Guitar Nights (Nuits de la Guitare) celebrate their 35th edition in 2026, from July 20 to 27. Eight evenings of concerts in an open-air theater nestled between vineyards and hills, featuring an eclectic lineup from Feu! Chatterton to Youssou N'Dour, and from Michel Jonasz to Julian Marley. Here is the complete TAFANELLI guide to the most iconic Corsican music event of the summer.
One of the Great Mediterranean Music Events
There are events in Corsica that everyone waits for each summer as landmarks on the calendar. The San Ghjuva on June 23 in Bastia. The 15th of August in inland villages. Saint Lucy on December 13 in Balagne. And among these must-attend gatherings, the Patrimonio Guitar Nights hold a special place.
Since 1988, this festival has transformed a small wine-growing village in Cap Corse into the musical capital of the island for eight consecutive evenings each year. With a capacity of about 2,000 seats per night, the programming has featured the biggest names in French and international music. The atmosphere blends musical seriousness, the mildness of a Corsican summer, and the generosity of an audience that has turned this festival into a generational tradition.
For many Corsicans, attending the Guitar Nights at least once is a rite of passage. For many visitors from the mainland, it is the discovery of a unique way to experience music: in the cool evening air, under the stars, among vineyards and cypresses, with a glass of Patrimonio wine in hand.
The 2026 edition, running from July 20 to 27, celebrates the 35th anniversary of the festival. An anniversary edition driven by a particularly ambitious program, gathering major figures from the contemporary French scene, legends of reggae and world music, guitar virtuosos, and several revelations awaited by a discerning audience.
35 Years of History Since 1988
The history of the Guitar Nights began in the late 1980s, in a Corsican cultural context very different from today's. At the time, the island struggled to host large-scale national musical events. Classical music festivals were confined to Bastia and Ajaccio. Major contemporary music acts rarely made it to Corsica.
The Founding Idea
In 1988, a small group of enthusiasts decided to create a festival dedicated to the guitar, covering all styles. They chose Patrimonio, a wine-growing village in Cap Corse, just a few kilometers from Saint-Florent. It was an intimate spot, with an exceptional natural setting, strong local roots, and a closeness to local winemakers who would quickly become partners of the festival.
Three Decades of Demanding Programming
Since then, year after year, the Guitar Nights have welcomed the greatest guitarists on the planet. B.B. King, John McLaughlin, Al Di Meola, Paco de Lucía, Larry Carlton, John Scofield, Pat Metheny, Sting, Ben Harper, Chico & the Gypsies, Manu Chao. Over the years, the festival has become an international benchmark in the guitar world, respected as much by jazz purists as by the mainstream French music audience.
This 35-year continuity of ambitious programming has built a unique artistic identity for Patrimonio, unmatched by any other Mediterranean festival.
A Loyal and Corsican Team
What distinguishes the Guitar Nights from many contemporary festivals is the stability of its organizing team. For decades, the artistic direction has been led by lovers of Cap Corse and music who reject purely commercial event logic and defend courageous, coherent programming. This invisible yet decisive human continuity explains the lasting quality of the event.
Patrimonio, the Wine-Growing Jewel of Cap Corse
It is impossible to understand the Guitar Nights without understanding Patrimonio, the village that hosts them.
A Village at the Heart of the Oldest Corsican Vineyard
Patrimonio is located in the Nebbio, a pivotal region between Bastia and Cap Corse proper, about fifteen kilometers west of Bastia and five kilometers from Saint-Florent. Its distinctiveness lies in being situated at the heart of the oldest AOC-designated vineyard in Corsica. The Patrimonio AOC, the first established on the island in 1968, covers the schist and limestone hills surrounding the village.
A Population That Multiplies Twentyfold in Summer
Patrimonio has barely a few hundred year-round residents. But every summer, and especially during festival week, the village population grows by more than twenty. Hotels, guesthouses, B&Bs, and surrounding campsites are fully booked by March. Restaurants reserve their tables weeks in advance. Winemakers open their estates for daily tastings. A whole summer economy thrives around the event.
Heritage to Explore
Beyond the festival itself, Patrimonio deserves a visit for its architectural and landscape heritage. Do not miss:
- The Saint-Martin baroque church, with its massive bell tower visible for miles.
- The U Nativu statue-menhir, one of the most impressive in Corsica, dating back to the Chalcolithic period (circa 900 BC).
- The panoramas from the ridges, opening up over the Gulf of Saint-Florent and Cap Corse.
- The vineyard paths that crisscross the village, which can be walked between dry stone walls.
The Théâtre de Verdure, a Unique Setting
The festival takes place entirely at the Patrimonio Théâtre de Verdure, an open-air stage nestled in a valley planted with olive trees, cypresses, and vines. This setting contributes as much to the festival's magic as the program itself.
Moderate Capacity for an Intimate Atmosphere
The Théâtre de Verdure can accommodate about 2,000 spectators per concert, which remains very modest by the scale of major European festivals. This limited capacity allows every spectator to be close to the stage, to feel the physical presence of the musicians, and to experience the concert with an intimacy rare for artists of this caliber.
Exceptional Natural Acoustics
The valley where the theater is located offers exceptional natural acoustics. The surrounding hills create a soundscape that amplifies and reverberates the instruments without needing excessive sound equipment. Acoustic guitars sound with a warmth found nowhere else, and voices carry naturally to the furthest rows.
The Magic of Open-Air Summer
Concerts generally begin around 9:30 PM, when the sun has just set behind the ridges of the Nebbio. The sky takes on violet and then black hues. Stars appear above the cypresses. The audience dresses lightly, sometimes bringing a fleece for the later hours of the night. The gulf breeze rises gently around 10:00 PM. With a glass of Patrimonio wine in hand, listening to the music while breathing in the scent of the maquis—this global sensory experience is what makes the Guitar Nights so much more than just a festival.
2026 Program: The Artists to Watch
The 35th edition of the Patrimonio Guitar Nights offers a dense program over eight consecutive evenings, with exceptional headliners and quality discoveries.
Feu! Chatterton, Anticipated Opening
Feu! Chatterton opens the festival in an evening promising to combine rock energy with poetic sensitivity. The Parisian group, a reference point of the new French scene, will bring its literary universe and stage power to the setting of Patrimonio. It is an ambitious way to open the anniversary edition.
Kyo, Michel Jonasz, Thomas Dutronc
Three major figures of French chanson are announced this year. Kyo returns to the stage with the pop-rock energy that made them successful. Michel Jonasz brings his warm tone and jazz-chanson repertoire that spans generations. Thomas Dutronc, a guitarist-singer inheriting a double artistic lineage, offers a personal and virtuoso jazz-manouche set.
Kendji Girac, Mediterranean Warmth
Kendji Girac brings back to Patrimonio the flamenco-pop energy that made him popular with the general public. It promises to be a particularly festive evening in line with the mainstream mission that has always been at the heart of the project.
MC Solaar, the Legend of French Rap
MC Solaar returns to festival stages with a set spanning thirty years of literary French rap. An evening that every fan of precise lyrics and unstoppable flows awaits with impatience.
Youssou N'Dour, the Ambassador of Senegal
Youssou N'Dour, one of the great voices of world music, brings to Patrimonio his unique blend of Senegalese mbalax and international influences. An evening that perfectly embodies the festival's open spirit, capable of bridging the French scene and world music.
Julian Marley, the Roots Heritage
Julian Marley, son of Bob Marley, embodies roots reggae with authenticity and commitment. His presence at Patrimonio promises a vibrant evening, carried by a message of hope and an artistic sincerity rare in the contemporary reggae scene.
The Expected Virtuosos
True to its vocation as a guitar festival, Patrimonio also schedules more intimate concerts featuring virtuosos sought after by purists:
- Yamandu Costa, the Brazilian seven-string guitar virtuoso, who traverses samba, choro, tango, jazz, and classical.
- Antoine Boyer and Yeore Kim, a duo of rare sensitivity mixing jazz, world music, and classical.
- Yarol Poupaud, a major French rock guitarist, promising a festive and intense evening.
The complete and detailed program by evening is available on the festival's official website, where tickets have been on sale for several months.
A Deliberately Eclectic Festival
This 2026 program perfectly illustrates the editorial philosophy that has made the Guitar Nights a success for 35 years: an embraced eclecticism that refuses to limit the event to a single musical style.
From French Chanson to Brazilian Jazz
Within the same week, the festival offers evenings that, if taken individually, would appeal to completely different audiences. The rap fan who comes for MC Solaar discovers Thomas Dutronc's jazz-manouche at the same time. The French chanson enthusiast who comes for Michel Jonasz opens up to the Brazilian virtuosity of Yamandu Costa. The guitar purist who comes for Antoine Boyer rediscovers Senegalese mbalax with Youssou N'Dour.
A Courageous Cultural Gamble
This programmed diversity is a courageous cultural gamble. It rests on the idea that the audience, when well-received and accompanied, is capable of opening itself to musical universes it did not know beforehand. It also rests on the conviction that the guitar is a universal common thread that allows one to cross all musical styles without losing artistic coherence.
It is this bet, maintained year after year since 1988, that explains the unique position of the Guitar Nights in the French and Mediterranean festival landscape.
Access, Tickets, and Shuttles
Here are the essential practical pointers to prepare for your visit to Patrimonio during the festival.
Getting to Patrimonio
Patrimonio is about fifteen kilometers from Bastia and five kilometers from Saint-Florent. By car, the trip from Bastia takes about twenty minutes via the Cap road. From Bastia-Poretta Airport, count on about 30 to 40 minutes.
Official Shuttles
The festival organizes official shuttles every night from Bastia and Saint-Florent. These shuttles are highly recommended, both to avoid parking issues around the theater (spots are very limited) and to allow you to enjoy the Patrimonio wine without worrying about the drive back. Book in advance on the festival's official website.
Tickets
Tickets are available on the festival's official website and through the Fnac Spectacles, Ticketmaster, and France Billet networks. Prices vary by evening, generally between 30 and 65 euros per concert, with preferential rates for young people under 25. Certain popular nights (Kendji Girac, MC Solaar, Julian Marley) sell out weeks in advance: book as early as possible.
Multi-Evening Passes
The festival also offers multi-evening passes at a preferential rate, allowing you to experience three, five, or even the entire week of the festival in an immersive way. These passes are particularly recommended for true enthusiasts traveling from the mainland: they make the trip worthwhile and turn the festival into a true musical getaway.
Where to Stay and Eat During the Festival
A festival of this scale requires good logistical organization, especially in the peak Corsican summer season.
Staying in Patrimonio Itself
In Patrimonio, the accommodation offering is concentrated but high-quality. A few charming B&Bs offer stays at reasonable rates. Some winemakers also open their farmhouses for wine-tourism lodging. Booking in advance is mandatory: spots are limited and taken very early in the year.
Staying in Saint-Florent
Saint-Florent, five kilometers away, offers a greater diversity of accommodation: hotels, aparthotels, tourist residences, B&Bs, and campsites. It is often the ideal compromise between the proximity of the festival and the comfort of a real seaside resort. As a bonus, Saint-Florent allows you to combine music in the evening with dream beaches during the day (Lotu, Saleccia). Our TAFANELLI retailer Momento is located in Saint-Florent, in the heart of the village, if you wish to tour our universe during your stay.
Where to stay in Bastia or Cap Corse
For those wishing to combine the festival with exploring the city, Bastia offers the widest range of accommodation. The official shuttles make the trip to Patrimonio worry-free. For a more intimate experience, the villages of Cap Corse (Nonza, Erbalunga, Centuri, Macinaggio) offer traditional lodging in an exceptional setting.
Where to eat before concerts
Restaurants in Patrimonio and Saint-Florent are almost always fully booked during festival week. Reservations are a must. Our recommendations:
- In Patrimonio: Le Corsu, Auberge du Vieux Moulin, and several winemakers who open their table d'hôtes.
- In Saint-Florent: La Route du Sel, La Rascasse, La Gaffe, La Voile.
- In Farinole (neighboring village): Chez Charles, a historic address on the Cap coast.
Patrimonio wines: Drinking AOC on-site
It is impossible to come to the festival without dedicating part of your stay to discovering Patrimonio wines, the oldest Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée in Corsica.
A historic AOC
The Patrimonio AOC was established in 1968, making it the island's first controlled designation of origin. It covers vineyards planted on the schist and limestone hills surrounding the village and the neighboring communes of Barbaggio, Farinole, Poggio d'Oletta, and Santa Maria di Lota. Three indigenous grape varieties reign over this appellation: Vermentinu (white), Nielluccio (red), and Sciaccarellu (red and rosé), which grow nowhere else with the same level of expressiveness.
Wineries to visit
Several emblematic estates of the appellation open their doors to visitors during the festival week:
- Domaine Antoine Arena, an international reference for Corsican viticulture.
- Domaine Yves Leccia, a master of Nielluccio and Vermentinu.
- Domaine Pastricciola, another staple of the upper Nebbio.
- Clos Signadore, known for biodynamics and great finesse.
- Domaine Gentile, one of the appellation's historic producers.
We have a complete article on Corsican AOC wines available here: The complete guide to 2026 Corsican wines. You will find the island's entire wine geography, grape varieties, and the best places for tastings.
Drinking a glass of Patrimonio Vermentinu while listening to Youssou N'Dour at the Théâtre de Verdure under the Corsican stars is likely one of the most complete cultural experiences one can have in Europe during the summer. Music, terroir, scenery, gastronomy: it's all there.
What TAFANELLI carries in echo of the festival
At TAFANELLI, we pay special attention to the Nuits de la Guitare because they embody everything we try to put into our clothing: a strong territorial foundation, artisanal and cultural excellence, and loyalty to the long term. Here are the pieces that we feel resonate particularly well with the spirit of the festival.
The Corsica 1755, for wearing your identity
Our Le Corsica 1755 t-shirt, drawing from the year of Paoli's Constitution, is the identity-defining piece par excellence to wear to the festival. 280 g/m² cotton, Made in France, hand-screen printed, limited edition. A piece that says where you come from, without demagoguery.
The Roccapina, for cool evenings
Our Roccapina oilskin jacket is ideal for festival evenings. The chill rises quickly in Patrimonio after midnight, and an oilskin jacket that stands the test of time without going out of style is the perfect piece to throw over your shoulders as the concert goes on. Made in France, hand-drawn, limited edition.
The Corsican bandana, the signature accessory
Our Corsican bandana is perhaps our most versatile piece for a festival. Worn on the forehead, it absorbs the heat of summer evenings. Worn around the neck, it elevates an outfit in one gesture. Worn in the hair, it keeps strands back while you dance in the front row. A square of fine cotton that suits every use.
The Requin Méditerranée Club cap
Our Requin Méditerranée Club cap protects you from the sun during days spent between the beach and the village. Pre-washed cotton, soft structure, rigid visor. The ideal piece for a Patrimonio stay that combines the beach at Saleccia in the morning and a concert in the evening.
All our pieces are made in France, hand-drawn, and released in limited editions. Like the Patrimonio festival, they reject the logic of volume and uphold a standard of quality that does not yield to passing trends.

It is a moment where contemporary Corsica comes together, where audiences from here and elsewhere meet under the same sky, and where music becomes a shared experience that transcends differences of origin and generation. Thirty-five years after its creation, the festival has lost none of its original magic. On the contrary: it has deepened, refined, and magnified it.
If you have never been, the 2026 edition is a wonderful opportunity to live this unique experience. If you have been before, you know that every edition brings its share of discoveries and moments that stay with you. Hopefully see you soon, under the stars of Patrimonio.
